| SECOND ADVANCED WORKSHOP IN SPOKEN SANSKRIT | |||||||||
| After the success of last year’s experience, Devavani is organizing an Advanced Workshop in Spoken Sanskrit for the second consecutive year. The Workshop is addressed to students who have already taken a Spoken Sanskrit Course. Its aim is to further develop their proficiency in the spoken aspect of the Sanskrit language. The course syllabus can be downloaded here.
The workshop will be taught by Dr. Sadananda Das, lecturer in Sanskrit at the University of Leipzig. Since 1988, Dr. Das has specialized in teaching spoken Sanskrit and he has lectured in this field at many schools and universities in India and around the world. For twelve years in a row, he has been giving a summer course in spoken Sanskrit at the South Asia Institute of the University of Heidelberg. He has also taught introductory spoken Sanskrit courses, as a visiting lecturer, at the universities of Tübingen, Bern, Zurich, Florence, and the Australian National University. Classes will be held at the classrooms of the Sant Cugat Museum, located inside the cloister of a Romanesque monastery in the city of Sant Cugat, only at 20 minutes by train from the city center of Barcelona. Accommodation for students: The student dormitory Roberto de Nobili is a modern facility located at a walking distance from the museum classrooms where the classes will be held. Information on the dormitory conditions and fees can be found at www.resa.es As an alternative, Devavani will also help those interested in finding accommodation in student flats in Barcelona. Tuition fee of the workshop: 300 euros. The workshop will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants. Application form: pdf.
